Space for Security: Madrid Space at EDF Info Days 2024

In light of the evolving geopolitical landscape and the pressing need for enhanced European defence capabilities, Madrid Space is proud to have participated in the European Defence Fund Info Days 2024.

The event, which attracted over 3,000 participants, highlighted the critical role of space technology in addressing future security challenges. By leveraging innovative space solutions, Europe can strengthen its defence posture and ensure the safety of its citizens.  

Our Business Development Manager, Patricia Martinez Bueno, gave a comprehensive talk about the company’s position within this segment of the industry, she discussed the potential of advanced RF sensor technologies to revolutionize radar systems. The presentation highlighted the need for highly versatile and adaptive radars capable of operating across a wide frequency spectrum, from high-power, high-frequency bands to multi- and wide-band operations. By incorporating innovative techniques like adaptive waveform design, AESA antennas, advanced signal processing, and AI/ML, these new-generation radars can significantly enhance performance, reduce SWaPC, and enable advanced capabilities such as MIMO radar and multi-static configurations.

The European Defence Fund (EDF) is a key instrument in driving defence research and development across the EU. With a budget of €7.3 billion for 2021-2027, the EDF supports collaborative projects that deliver cutting-edge defence technologies and capabilities.
